Criteria for the award included professional excellence, accuracy, timeliness and efficiency toward helping students through the process of their degree completion.

Hera, who has worked with student records for 16 years, attributes her success to mentors, colleagues and leadership in the Beaver College of Health Sciences Office of Advising and Student Success.

“I’m honored to be the very first person to receive this award, and I am grateful for the exceptional leadership and mentors who helped me get where I am,” she said. “When you take exceptional leadership, combine it with a team who have a passion for serving students, you have a recipe for success."

In addition to the award, Hera received a plaque and a $500 stipend and was recognized during an awards ceremony held on the Boone campus.

Dr. Troy Johnson, App State’s vice chancellor of enrollment management, said, “Congratulations Hera! Your spirit and student service mindset are endearing. We are fortunate to have you at App State.”
